This part of the website is meant to explore the many myths and rumors surrounding Robespierre and his followers. Many of these myths centered around his cult of personality he set up for himself as well as his dramatic last stand and death by the guillotine in 1794. My goal was to separate the fact from the fiction and try to figure out why such myths to exist as well as how they affect our understanding of his character.
